From the Ottawa Sun’s Bruce Garrioch, via Twitter: The Oilers and D Andy Sutton are discussing a one-year extension. Three and a Half Years of Tambo… More on the Way?
Blogs Source:Oil On Whyte - February 9 09:50 AM MST
As has been reported in the media for a couple of weeks now, discussed on the TSN panel and pointed out yet again in Elliotte Friedman’s latest 30 thoughts article, the Oilers are strongly rumoured to being close to a contract extension with current General Manager Steve Tambellini. The reaction of many Oiler fans and bloggers has been predictable: (Speaking of once-proud franchises that terrible management decisions have ruined…) Now, I’m all for immediate public outrage and s... Edmonton Oilers: Did Sam Gagner Sell His Soul to the Devil?
National News Source:Bleacher Report - Edmonton Oilers - February 8 10:32 PM MST
The question is in the title: Did Sam Gagner sell his soul to the devil? Not the ones from New Jersey, I mean the real one. The one with the pitch fork, hooves and pointed tail. At 22 years old, Sam Gagner is already in his fifth NHL season—which stands testament to the skill level expected out of him from the Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers drafted Gagner with their first pick—sixth overall before the start of the 2007-08 season. In his first four seasons, Gagner, much like his team&mdas... Read More »

For the most part, Oiler fans have been pretty accommodating during ‘the rebuild’. I put this ‘rebuild’ in quotations, because I’m beginning to doubt that it has a finite timetable to it, and while I’m not certain, I’m beginning to get the inkling that the ‘plan’ is to ‘look good sometime in the future’. There are two things that I’ve come to realize with this rebuild. … [visit site to read more]Que Sera Sera - Oil On ... Read More »

Quick, what’s the last game you remember where not a single penalty was called? FIREWAGON HOCKEY The Oilers opened up the scoring early on, but major lapses on defence coupled with a a couple questionable moments gave the Leafs a 6-3 victory at the Air Canada Centre. Jordan Eberle is still very, very good, the Gagner point streak lives on, and Tom Gilbert played his first game since his ankle injury against the Blackhawks. Oh, and the Nuge is out for at least week with a sprained shoulde... Read More »
